Auction: South Jersey Horse Rescue Jewelry Extravaganza #2
A collection of high end and costume jewelry benefiting South Jersey Horse Rescue (SJHR), a 501(c)(3) equine rescue, whose mission is to provide loving sanctuary to abandoned, neglected, abused, and slaughter-bound horses.
The SJHR is run wholly by volunteers. They take in horses from emergency situations when the owners can no longer care for them due to catastrophic life changes, and they also collaborate with the SPCA and Animal Control officers in New Jersey and neighboring states when horses are found abandoned or abused. In addition, they rescue horses from certain death at slaughterhouses by purchasing those destined for slaughter from local auctions. Equines that have been physically or mentally abused, who have suffered injuries and/or illness, are given the appropriate treatment to restore them to health. If a horse can be rehabilitated, SJHR provides the training they need so they can be adopted to permanent homes, under a no-sale, no-auction contract. Horses that are permanently disabled or blind are given permanent sanctuary.
